KAUNAS/ LITHUANIA

During the mobility in Lithuania hosted by Kaunas Santara Gymnasium, teachers and students participated in a comprehensive set of activities designed to promote gender equality through sports.

The activities started with a ceremonial welcome of all guests by the event coordinator. Then the Lithuanian students showed everyone around their school where we could see the sports hall, the conference room and equipment of some of the classrooms. The next activity of the program were integration classes, during which we made amber bracelets, danced regional Lithuanian dances, that are very popular at Santaros Gimnazija, and played games thanks to which we could get to know each other better. In the afternoon, we went to the center of Kaunas to take part in a city game with tasks related to the history and culture of Kaunas and Lithuania.

It was a great time spent with people from different cultural backgrounds, thanks to which we could all get to know and appreciate the wonderful diversity of the European community.

The second day in Lithuania

We began this day by arriving in Birštonas, a well known resort by Niemen river, where we took part in a outdoor game that helped us get to know the area better. One of the stops during the game was Vytautas mineral water spring, with healthy water of an unusual taste. Next, we participated in a workshop where we had the opportunity to learn how to make 'a banda'. It was a unique chance to create and taste a traditional Lithuanian dish based on an old recipe. To end the day, we visited the Devils' Museum where we saw an interesting collection of sculptures of devils and witches from all over the world. The day was full of excitement, and we’re already looking forward to the next adventures!

Day 3 of the Erasmus+ project (April 9th)

We started the day by visiting Žalgiris Arena. We learned about its history, purpose, and had the opportunity to explore the facility. The next activity was preparing a presentation aimed at promoting equality in sports.

After that, we took part in team games in the sports hall. These activities helped strengthen the relationships between the project participants and allowed us to develop our passion for sports, including healthy competition. This day was full of new experiences, strengthened our peer bonds, helped improve our language skills, and gave us the chance to make new friendships.
