During the mobility in Norway hosted by Åssiden videregående skole, teachers and students participated in a comprehensive set of activities designed to promote gender equality through sports.
The first day of our Erasmus+ project focusing on gender equality in sports has been successfully completed. During this initial stage, participants from Norway, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Türkiye, and Portugal gathered for an introductory meeting held in the school hall. The session began with a series of structured icebreaker activities designed to facilitate interaction and promote cross-cultural communication among participants. Informal socialization continued during the breaks, accompanied by a variety of refreshments, including fresh fruit, cakes, and other snacks.
Following a joint lunch, students engaged in a collaborative creative task. Working in mixed-nationality groups, participants produced short videos addressing issues of gender equality and inequality within selected sports disciplines. In preparing these videos, they examined several key aspects, including disparities in athletes’ treatment, access to equipment and sports facilities, remuneration differences, and the level of media coverage. This activity not only deepened their understanding of gender-related challenges in the field of sports but also strengthened cooperation and group cohesion.

During our Erasmus+ mobility in Norway, we dedicated one day to exploring Oslo, which proved to be particularly enriching. The programme began with a visit to the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the world’s largest sculpture park created by a single artist. In addition to viewing Gustav Vigeland’s works, participants engaged in a project activity that required them to imitate selected sculptures. This task provided an enjoyable learning experience while helping students better understand the artistic expression and symbolism embodied in Vigeland’s creations.
Following the park visit, the group proceeded to the Royal Palace to observe the official residence of the Norwegian royal family. The final stop of the day was the Oslo Opera House, where participants walked onto the building’s iconic roof and enjoyed a panoramic view of the city.

Our 2nd Erasmus+ day in Drammen combined physical activity with cultural exploration. We began in the school gymnasium with a warm-up session followed by group badminton activities. Working in mixed teams allowed participants to engage in friendly competition while promoting cooperation and active participation. The sports activities created a positive atmosphere and energized the group for the rest of the programme.
Afterwards, students took part in a city “treasure hunt,” which enabled them to discover key locations in Drammen. By moving through the city’s streets and squares, they identified important landmarks, photographed statues, and learned to notice details often overlooked in everyday life. This activity strengthened group integration and provided insights into Norwegian culture and local traditions.
During the field tasks, participants also reflected on how gender inequality can be observed in urban spaces, particularly in public monuments and symbolic structures. This short analytical moment connected the day’s activities with the project’s broader focus on gender equality.

On Thursday, we began the day by watching the videos recorded on Monday, which allowed participants to reflect on their work, recall earlier activities, and take pride in the outcomes achieved. Afterwards, the group embarked on a trek through a scenic forest area. The walk encouraged informal conversations and helped strengthen interpersonal connections. Along the route, students visited a local Catholic church and continued following the river toward a nearby bridge, where the next activity took place.
At this point, an orienteering challenge was introduced. Working in groups, participants searched for designated markers hidden in the forest. The task promoted cooperation, strategic thinking, and shared problem-solving. Following the physical activity, the group gathered for a barbecue, which provided an informal setting for intercultural exchange. Participants from different countries engaged in conversation, shared experiences, and enjoyed a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
